Jubilate



Jubilate is the second most advanced choir (typically 8th through 12th grades) at the Tucson Girls Chorus

Dr. Marcela Molina, Director
Dr. Chris Fresolone, Assistant Conductor and Accompanist

Rehearsals: Thursdays, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm, plus occasional Saturday mornings and/or Monday evenings

Musical concepts include (but not limited to):
  • Identification of all qualities of triads
  • Short melodic dictations
  • Advanced sight-singing using solfege
  • Development of vocal independence through learning multi-part repertoire
  • Continued development of vocal technique, breath control, and effective rehearsal techniques



Responsibilties
Members of Jubilate assume more individually responsibilities within the Tucson Girls Chorus including:
  • Mentoring younger singers at TGC through a variety of activities, such as regularly attending and participating in the younger choir rehearsals
  • Hosting open houses for TGC
  • Being Ambassadors of Tucson while on concert tours
 
Concert Tours
Jubilate goes on tour regionally each Spring. Last year the group visited El Paso and in the Spring of 2013 they will visit San Diego. Tours are approximately four days long; the girls stay with host families, perform at local venues, and visit local sites.
