Girls who are in the 2nd through 12th grades are invited to enroll for placement into one of our four choirs; the Advanced Choir only accepts girls who have performed with one of the other four choirs for at least one year. Girls are typically placed into the choir that matches their age group and musical ability. The enrollment process is low-key and is administered by one of the Tucson Girls Chorus directors. The audition is about 10 minutes in length and consists of the girl singing a song of her own choosing a cappella (without musical accompaniment) and the director will evaluate pitch matching, vocal range, rhythmic ability and melodic memory through some simple vocal exercises. No previous music experience is required. We only ask that girls have the ability of matching pitch and have a passion for singing, learning, having fun, and meeting new friends! Rehearsals: Ladybugs: Monday 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Hummingbirds: Monday 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm Mariposa Singers: Tuesday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Jubilate: Thursday 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Advanced Choir: Thursday 6:00 pm - 8:30pm Tuition Scholarships are available!! Tuition covers 12 months beginning from July to June and is paid in quarterly amounts. The Tucson Girls Chorus never turns away a singer because of financial needs. Our next enrollment period will be in August of 2011, with Open House on Saturday August 13, 2011 at 10:00am and September 10, 2011 at 10:00am.
