ABOUT TGC
Chorus Descriptions
Below are the current choirs that study and perform here in Tucson:
- The Ladybug Choir
- The Hummingbird Choir
- Mariposa Singers Choir
- Jubilate Choir
- Advanced Choir
Included in the choral curriculum are music history, theory, vocal production, aural skills, advanced choral techniques, responsibility and discipline. Students are tested each year as they progress to higher choirs. Working from unison singing in the Ladybugs Chorus to six-part singing in the Advanced Touring Choir, the girls develop into responsible young women of exceptional musical ability and talent.
The singing season for the Tucson Girls Chorus runs from August to May. All rehearsals are held in the TGC Music Hall in the Mehl Family Foothills Park on River Road between Dodge and Swan.
How To Join
Auditions are held three times a year: May, August & January. Singers must be accompanied to the audition by a parent or guardian. The Chorus is open to new girls from the 2nd through the 9th grades*. For more information email tgcsings@yahoo.com or call the TGC office at 577-6064.
*Girls who are currently in the 9th grade are only eligible to audition in August and January.

Beth Walkup
Through a series of fortunate events, Beth Walkup (non-profit consultant and City of Tucson's First Lady) serves as our Interim Executive Director. Beth has had many years of experience in helping non-profits achieve their goals. With an endless supply of energy and exciting ideas about how the TGC can create a strong and vital community girls chorus, she is taking us from one adventure to another – from "StarKidz" to "Duets & Dinner" and everything in-between. Thank you Beth!
