TRACY FLORENCE is conductors Las Estrellas choir at Holaway Elementary. She is passionate about children, their need for music in their lives, the need for music in their futures, and the need for the arts in this world.


Tracy has been a music educator for over thirty years. While teaching elementary music for the Ysleta Independent School District in her home town of El Paso, Texas, Tracy facilitated the Sing Out Ysleta Elementary Choral Festivals, taught private voice at two high schools, and assisted the Ysleta Fine Arts Department in their journey to create a tool to identify gifted and talented fine arts students. Tracy moved to Dallas, Texas in 2005 where she taught elementary music for the Richardson Independent School District and assisted the North Texas American Orff Schulwerk Association with workshops and recruitment. Tracy also served as an area music team leader for Richardson ISD. After retirement from public school music, Tracy taught Kindermusik in Dallas,Texas for Purple Nest Kindermusik.


As a professional musician, Tracy has sung with El Paso Pro Musica, the EL Paso Opera Chorus and the Dallas Symphony Chorus. She is currently a member of the Tucson Symphony Chorus.


Tracy earned a Bachelor of Music Education/Perfomance degree for the University of Texas at El Paso and pursued masters work at San Diego State University. She holds three levels of certification in the area of Orff Schulwerk music education and one level of Kodaly certification. 


Tracy recently moved to Tucson with her husband and their two fur babies to pursue retirement but, after meeting the amazing Tucson Girls Chorus team, that may be on hold.
