BECCA ANDERSON is a native Tucsonan and lifelong musician. She currently teaches general music, choir, and orchestra at a local public school. She brings over 10 years of classroom and music teaching experience to her first year with Tucson Girls Chorus. Becca earned a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Music from Northern Arizona University in 2007. She also has a Master's degree in Reading, Language and Culture from University of Arizona and a Master's in Practical Theology from Palmer Seminary. Becca's passion in music education is for the younger musicians. She loves engaging them in music play, learning and exploring music in playful ways. Working with students who are first starting in music ensembles, both choir and string ensembles, excites her as she witnesses her students discover the spark of musical joy. Her favorite part of singing or playing with an ensemble is the community between the musicians and the community with the audience.
