Chicago-born soprano, educator, and administrator BETHANY JARGSTORF is currently completing her DMA in Voice Performance with a minor in Applied Intercultural Arts Research at the University of Arizona. At home on both the opera and concert stage, her latest engagements include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte, UA Opera Theater) and soloist in the upcoming performance of Rautavaara’s Vespers with the Helios Ensemble. Ms. Jargstorf has performed several leading roles at U of A and abroad in Italy where her recent credits include Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Antonia (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Bellinda (Dido and Aeneas), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), and Soprano Soloist (Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42).Â
While pursuing her Master’s degree at U of A, Ms. Jargstorf was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Applied Voice and has maintained a vibrant studio here in Tucson, including students from other parts of the country. She is passionate about nurturing voices of all ages but is particularly excited to help young singers discover their most free, authentic, and confident sound in a learning space where all feel empowered to explore the amazing possibilities of the voice.Â
Since 2023, Ms. Jargstorf has served as Director of Operations for the Tucson Desert Song Festival and as Administrator of the Helios Ensemble and Opera Guild of Southern Arizona since 2025. She has become increasingly inspired by the behind-the-scenes work that makes exceptional artistry and educational opportunities possible for our community. Additionally, she is a founding member of Neoteric Chamber Choir, a Tucson-based ensemble devoted to performing the work of living composers, and has participated in the premieres of several works by her colleagues and professors at U of A. Ms. Jargstorf is a two-time finalist in the Rieman Opera Competition, two-time recipient of the Quest for the Best Scholarship and Summer Study Grant awarded by the Opera Guild of Southern Arizona, and was also a recipient of a Medici Scholar Project Grant from the UA College of Fine Arts.Â
Ms. Beth is thrilled to join the TGC family and support these young singers in their vocal and artistic development!Â
